It’s not very often that a lipstick exceeds expectations, but that’s exactly what Lip Whip by Beauty Bakerie delivers. This signature line of beautiful liquid lipsticks is a fan with stars and norms alike. And with a below-average price tag, it’s also a steal. If you’re looking for a lipstick that lasts, this one is right up your alley!
Beauty Bakerie is a small company started by a woman who really wanted to make a difference in the lives of women. Not only is it a real up-and-coming company, but it also maintains an emphasis on cruelty free and conscientious cosmetics. The company loves to showcase the “lighter” side of life and their cosmetics line run in an adorable Kawaii ice-cream and goodie theme. They’ve been featured in everything from Elle to Buzzfeed, InStyle to Teen Vogue and everything in between. They’re also a favorite with celebrities like Queen B. herself (or so the website claims).
What Makes It So Great?
Not only does Lip Whip come in an array of color options, it’s one of the longest lasting lipsticks out there. Seriously. It’s like you can’t remove this stuff unless you have turpentine. Not really, but it does have extraordinary staying power and the pigments are out of this world. This beauty must-have will guarantee you a kiss-proof pout, no matter what your plans for the evening are. The colors are really great as well, running everywhere from a deep, dark red (think Jeffree Star’s “Unicorn Blood”) to a bright, electric teal. The texture is velvety-smooth and the saccharine theme is enough for even the sweetest tooth to indulge.
Yay or Nay?
First, the good things. Overall, Lip Whip by Beauty Bakerie is a steal at only $20. Long lasting, smooth as velvet and hyper-pigmented, this is a liquid lipstick I’m pretty happy to have discovered. If the rumors are true, it’s no wonder that Beyonce loves this little lipstick. It’s one heck of a deal and definitely feels like a lipstick you get your money’s worth from.
The cons? The colors were a little too matte for me and seemed to dry out a little quicker than some other long-lasting liquid lipsticks like Kat Von D’s Everlasting Glimmer Veil. However, by adding a little of my own gloss, it made a strong lipstick that lasted throughout a long evening. Overall, I’d give it 8 / 10.
