Unboxing & Review: The New 2017 – 2018 Erin Condren LifePlanner

Looking to get organized? A new planner is a great way to start, and there is no better way to start than with one of the new Erin Condren 2018 Lifeplanners! Check out just what comes inside that pretty purple box and find out if this life planner is the perfect fit for you.

First Impressions

If you don’t know what an Erin Condren LifePlanner is, let me break it down for you.

The Erin Condren LifePlanner is a premium planner, and somewhere between the line of agenda and scrapbook. It’s a planner that is not only meant to help you keep track, it encourages you to use your creativity and to keep a log of memories and goals alike. Composed of premium materials and made in the USA, it really is one of the best personal planners on the market. It’s also renowned for it’s gorgeous decor and color schemes.

Before I even opened the box, I was already starting to get happy. The planner arrived wrapped in bubble wrap and gorgeous tissue paper, inside an already gorgeously decorated box. My package was shipped internationally, so I was a bit worried about how it would arrive. There was no need to fear, though, as the planner was securely packaged and arrived in perfect, pristine condition.

Before I even had a chance to make it to the planner, I was greeted with a host of beautiful little freebies. This included some gorgeous gift labels and a postcard. All boasted the same to-die-for pattern that you’ll find inside the planner (don’t worry, we’ll get there). These little freebies, noted, it was time to move on to the good stuff…my new Lifeplanner!

As soon as I had that purple paper peeled back, I was in love. Right away I was struck by how beautiful the cover was. I went with one of the new floral patterns (picked out personally by Erin herself) accented with a gorgeous golden foil. The cover was also embellished with my name (at no extra cost) in a really pretty matching gold foil. I was immediately struck by the cover quality.

Along with the planner came what is known as the “Plan For It Pouch”. This is just a little pouch for stationary, pens, markers, and whatever other planning items you need on the go. Inside, it was filled with more free goodies, including compliment cards, a 20% off voucher and a few more gift labels. The planner also came with an attached ruler, which was covered with a thin protective film.

Talk about being impressed right away.

Not only was I greeted with a beautiful, heavily laminated cover, but I was also greeted with a burst of beautiful colors and paper that is totally to-die-for. The 2017 – 2018 edition of the LifePlanner features the really pretty “petals” pattern. You can go for this in either bright colors, or opt for the neutral (black, white, grey) version. Either way you go, it’s a really delicate, pretty pattern that just gives the planner a little extra something.

After the really pretty vellum overlay page and the into / name page, you come to the year-at-a-view page that features the remaining months of 2017 and all the months for 2018. Next up is a really pretty 2 page spread that can work as either a goals page or an “important dates” page with blank, color coded boxes.

Each month in the Erin Condren LifePlanner features a monthly calendar, full weekly spread, and a notes / goal page. Each month also comes color coded, with no colors repeating. For an extra $5, you can also add the remaining months of 2017 to your planner. Which is great if you don’t want to wait until 2018 to get to planning.

At the rear of the planner was even more awesome-ness. Perfect for the girl on the go, the rear of the LifePlanner features 4 note pages, 4 grid pages and 4 coloring pages. It also includes 4 pages of stickers, a folder and a perpetual calendar. The inside of the front and rear covers also include a wet-erase dashboard.

Overall Thoughts

I really have to admit it, I am so impressed with this planner.

It’s no secret that an Erin Condren planner is a bit more of a pricey investment. But thanks to the paper quality, the design and layout, I think it’s an investment worth making. This is a really pretty planner that really encourages you to have fun with your planning and organization. There’s so much room to add your own touch and flare to this planner. Plus, it’s so pretty you won’t want to put it down. From start to finish it’s a really great planner.

The only thing I would change about my LifePlanner is just some of the sections. For me, my planner would be perfect if it featured a few more sections like meal planning, budgeting or goal setting. There are a few blank spaces. But unfortunately, there’s just not the space to accommodate it all. You can purchase logs like fitness and budgeting to stick in the back of the planner, but really, who wants to do all that?

It’s also important to point out that shipping with this item was GREAT. My planner was delivered to me internationally, and it arrived not only on time, but impeccably presented. It was wrapped up safely and arrived without even a scratch. There were also handy tracking updates from both Erin Condren and the courier (FedEx) at regular / important intervals.

Overall, for the sheer design and quality, though, I have to give this planner a 9 / 10. This is a planner that has been crafted with true care and artistry, and it shines through in all the little details that make the Erin Condren LifePlanner so special.
